It Takes All Kinds

About

A certain Swedish band – which I’m not really into – once sang a pleasant ditty by the name of Thank You for the Music. If they got one sentiment right, it’s that one.

Music features daily in my life; sometimes I overdose on it and even a short commute of a few stops on the underground rarely goes unaccompanied. I once declared to a friend that I didn’t understand his need for a 5GB iPod. These days I’m near permanently attached to my five-year old, 30GB iPod. It’s entirely possible that I have a bipolar disorder of the musical variety.

I love a good live performance too, and all the better if the venue is intimate and the absence of video walls is usually a bonus, not least if it means that the audience can read every expression on the performers’ faces and hear every subtle nuance in their vocals.

As for videogames, well… thank goodness for the Nintendo DS and Sony PSP. I’ve been a Game Boy fan in the past too, ever since they moved to colour and revamped Zelda’s portable debut. These days it’s tricky to find the time to sit down and play epics that eat up a whole weekend – although I confess to still allowing it to happen with more compelling titles. Oh, okay. It happened with Super Mario Galaxy too, even though it was a bit easy.

Take a look at my posts and it should quickly become apparent what has tickled my fancy of late. It could be almost anything, though TV and big Hollywood cinema are unlikely to feature very often.
